Frequency Aggregation on Realme
4G mobile Internet is actively used all over the world. It allows you to quickly open web pages and download heavy files, communicate in messengers through video calls. But not everyone knows that there is an improved 4G+ standard, also called LTE-Advanced. Today we will discuss whether there is frequency aggregation on Realme, and how it can be used for faster data transfer.
What is frequency aggregation?
Carrier Aggregation (LTE-A) — технология, объединяющая несколько частотных диапазонов для улучшения пропускной способности. Смартфон подключается к разным каналам связи, за счет чего скорость работы интернета повышается.

How frequency bands work
Вы уже знаете, что значит агрегация частот на Realme, но что такое диапазоны? Их еще называют бэндами. Например, в России есть четыре основных диапазона: band 3 (1800 МГц), band 7 (2600 МГц), band 20 (800 МГц) и band 38 (2600 МГц).
Band 3 and 7 are actively used in densely populated areas. Band 20 is relevant in small towns and villages. With LTE-Advanced, band 3 + band 7, or band 7 + band 7 are connected. Slightly less often band 20 is combined with some other band.

Pros and cons of LTE-A
Many people do not understand why frequency aggregation is necessary. The main reason to use 4G+ is the fast Internet speed. The difference with standard LTE is noticeable, especially when downloading large files and watching videos in high resolution. The technology is also useful in densely populated areas with congested channels.
There is also a disadvantage: the phone runs out of power very quickly. So LTE-Advanced can be a real problem if, for example, you are on a trip and there is no way to charge your mobile device.
Do all phones support frequency aggregation

Объединение частотных диапазонов возможно, если на телефоне версия LTE.Cat 6 и выше. Чем новее версия, тем лучше скорость интернета. Разрешенная скорость может достигать 300 Мбит/с. Чаще всего это зависит от процессора смартфона и, соответственно, его цены. Дорогие флагманы могут похвастаться новейшими версиями LTE-A, тогда как у бюджетных девайсов это всего лишь Cat 6.
List of Realme phones with LTE-A support
Let's say right away that all Realmi smartphones support frequency aggregation. The function is present even on models released in 2018. Only LTE Cat differs. Below we will describe in detail which LTE-A versions are installed on specific phones.
The Cat6 standard is supported:
- Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro (300/50 Mbps).
- Realme C1, Realme C1 (2019) (300/50 Mbps).
- Realme U1 (300/50 Mbps).
- Realme 3 Pro, Realme C3, Realme C3i, Realme X (300/75 Mbps).
- Realme 6, Realme 6S (300/75 Mbps), Realme 6 Pro (300/150 Mbps).
- Realme Narzo 10A, Realme Narzo (300/75 Mbps).
Cat13 (600/100 Mbps) and Cat12 (600/50 Mbps) are only found in Realme 1, Realme 3 and Realme 3i.
For the other models, the manufacturer did not specify the type of version in the characteristics, but they all accurately support frequency aggregation. The only point - the aggregation is not specified in the Realme C20/C21 parameters.
How to check LTE-Advanced support
There are two options - look at the official characteristics of the phone or check the band association with the help of special applications.
The first way is very simple. Open a reliable site, for example, GSMArena or 4PDA DevDBand look at the parameters that relate to cellular communication. If the mobile device has LTE-A support, this will be indicated there.
The second method involves downloading and installing a frequency aggregation application. Most of these applications require root rights. The only exception is CellMapper. The utility determines in which bands the smartphone works.
How to enable frequency aggregation on Realme (LTE-Advanced)

This feature may not work even if your smartphone knows how to connect bands. The fact is that not all regions have the appropriate coverage. Check with your wireless service provider for more details.
It is also recommended to set 4G as the preferred network type for Realme:
- Open "Settings" and go to "SIM cards and mobile data". Tap on "SIM1" or "SIM2".
- Click on the line "Preferred network type" and specify "4G/3G/2G".
If the option is activated, you will see a 4G+ or LTE Advanced icon in the status bar.
