How to calibrate screen brightness

If the automatic brightness control on Realme is not working properly (light sensor), you can try adjusting it.

1. Go to the Realme UI system settings.
2. Open the "Screen and brightness" item and turn off the auto brightness adjustment.
3. Now set the brightness to maximum manually.
4. We go to the dark part of the room with the phone.
5. Preferably in complete darkness turn on the Auto Brightness. The slider position will drop to almost zero.
6. When the system stops changing the brightness of the screen - set the slider by hand to a comfortable level.
7. After that, you have to turn on a bright light (can be held up to a light bulb) so that the auto brightness goes up to maximum.

After this calibration the light sensor will work better. If you reboot the phone, the calibration settings may be lost, in which case it is recommended to repeat the procedure (if there are problems).

How to display contacts on the home screen for speed dial

The built-in Calls app on Realme smartphones has the ability to add a contact icon to the desktop:

1. Turn on the "Calls" system application and go to the "Contacts" tab.
2. Now you need to select three favorite contacts. To do this, press the desired number and click on "Add to Favorites".
3. At the top of the list of all contacts will be marked with a yellow star.
4. Close the application, clear recent applications (RAM).
5. Then on the home screen, click on the Calls application icon (tube) and a Quick Actions window will appear in front of us.
6. Click the desired contact and drag it to the desktop.

You can add up to 3 favorite contacts at a time with these instructions. The first three contacts simply need to be removed from the group and the next ones added, and so on and so forth.

How to make a contact photo full screen

1. Go to the Calls application - Contacts tab.
2. Select the desired contact.
3. Click on the number profile icon (automatic picture) and select "Choose from gallery".
4. Find the desired picture and set the maximum size so that it is displayed in full screen.

Important features! Photos intended for contacts must be on the device, and the contacts themselves must be used from the phone memory (not from the SIM card or Google account).

How to disable all ads in Realme without Root rights

Relame UI, unlike MIUI, has no ads built into the system or branded apps. But there are ads in common third-party apps. Using the system settings, you can hide most of the annoying ads.

1. Go to "Settings" - "Connection and sharing".
2. Scroll below and select "Private DNS" - "Specified Private DNS".
3. Now in the window that appears, write one of these networks dot-de.blahdns.com or dns.adguard.com.
4. That's it, now most ads will be hidden.

This method has disadvantages, for example:

• The network speed can drop dramatically, as all Internet requests will go through the specified dns server.
• Can Some applications stop working and services.
• If you use applications with built-in advertising, where, for example, to get a free bonus you have to view video ads, then most likely you will just show a blank screen, without the possibility of skipping.

Here you should do a small test and see how your applications behave. If there are any problems, either try to change the DNS, or don't use it at all.

Which Realmi models have call recording

Official response from OPPO:

"According to our information, all OPPO and Realme smartphones have a phone recording feature."

But here it should be clarified that only if these models are made for Russia! If you buy Polish, Indian, Ukrainian or other region - this function does not exist. That is, out of the box, call recording is everywhere, but it is hidden because of regional laws. In the firmware for Russia (type B) it works in the built-in Calls app.

If you want to record on European firmware (A) - use Cube ACR application. The call is recorded from the line and not from the microphone, that is, you can hear both the interlocutor and you.

How to make separate volume control

In Realme UI 1.0 there is no such feature, but in the system settings Realme UI 2.0 added a separation for: multimedia, ringtone, notifications and alarm clock. Also, as an option, you can use the third-party application Persist Volume Control (volume control).

For example, you can use this app to set completely different settings for calls, messages, notifications, and so on.

How to unlock Realme if you forgot your lock screen password

Official response from Realme and OPPO support:

"If you forget your screen lock code, you won't be able to restore it! This is done to protect your smartphone from theft. If you encounter such a problem, you will have to contact an official service center. You will also need to prove that the smartphone is yours, having in hand the box and receipt.

But, there is one way to reset (with loss of data). To reset the lock code, you can use a connected Google account. That is, find your smartphone via the Google Find My Android website and reset it remotely (erase all data).

There are no other options! Be careful when entering the password at random or giving the phone to children.

How to turn off the ascending volume on a call

There is no such option in the system settings. Realmi support replied that the volume growth is on by default, and there is no way to change it. Perhaps in the next update something will change. In the meantime, you can use a third-party app to make calls, for example in True Phone - there is an option to disable the ascending call.

How to calibrate the gyroscope on Realme

If you notice problems when using the smartphone in applications where, for example, there is a possibility to control by tilting (games, maps and so on), you can try to adjust the built-in gyroscope. This is done in the system settings.

1. Open the built-in application "Compass", give it access to the location.
2. Now go through the compass calibration, making a figure-of-eight pattern.
3. Follow the instructions shown on the screen.

How to turn off digital wellbeing

Now almost all recent firmware builds include a "Digital Wellness and Parental Controls" option. Some users don't need this app from Google at all, as it constantly collects data in the background about Android usage, builds graphs and consumes the device's resources. Therefore, if you don't use Digital Wellbeing or don't give your children your smartphone under Parental Control, you can turn this option off.

1. Go to the system settings.
2. Scroll down to "Digital Wellbeing" and open it.
3. In the upper right corner, click on the three dots.
4. Select "Data Management" - disable "Using the device in a day" - close access.
5. In the "Access Usage Data" menu, select "Digital Wellbeing" and turn it off. Done.

How to calibrate the proximity sensor

If, for example, the screen does not turn off when you call, or vice versa does not turn on when the phone is removed from the ear - then most likely the proximity sensor does not work properly.

Check how it works through the engineering menu

1. Go to the "Calls" application - enter the code *#899#.
2. Select "Manual test".
3. Scroll to the tab "Device debugging" and select the item "Proximity sensor test".
4. Here we check how the sensor works, cover the top of the phone with your handand if the screen turns green and the light values change - the proximity sensor on Realme works fine.
5. If the test fails, go back and select "Calibration".

You can also check the sensor through the Sensor Box For Android app. Select "Proximity Sensor" and again cover the top of the phone with your hand. The value should be 5 - this is normal.

You can also try simply restarting the phone, in most cases this helps. Another important point, if the protective glass is glued (especially with the color frame) or film - in that case it may interfere with the sensors and affect their operation. Pay attention to this.

How to calibrate the accelerometer

If the accelerometer does not work properly, for example, in some application does not count the tilt, you need to check its work. Use the Sensor Box For Android app for this purpose.

1. Go to the application, select "Accelerometer Sensor".
2. If the ball rolls smoothlywithout sudden jumps when tilting the smartphone - everything works properly.
3. If the ball jumps sharply or on an equal surface moves - then it is worth trying to calibrate the accelerometer on Realme.

To do this, open the engineering menu:

How to extend Wi-Fi coverage through Realme

Realme smartphones can be used as a Wi-Fi repeater, that is, to extend the coverage area of the router.

1. Go to settings, turn on Wi-Fi and connect to the network of the desired router.
2. Go back, click on Connection and Sharing (Other wireless networks) - Access Point - Enable (it can be pre-configured).

How to maximize screen brightness

If maximum screen brightness is not enough, it is worth checking the following option:

1. Go to settings, scroll to the "Battery" menu.

How to connect a USB flash drive via OTG

All OPPO and Realme models support the connection of regular USB drives. But this requires a special (quality) USB to Type-C adapter, the flash drive itself and the permission to read it in the settings. To enable:

How to put a video on the wallpaper on the desktop

There is no built-in functionality for video wallpaper installation on Realme yet. But you can use a third-party application from Google Play for this purpose.

1. Go to the Play Store, search for "Video Live Wallpaper" and select the developer NAINGDroid.
2. Wait until the end of the download and enter the application.
3. Provide the desired permissions and click the "Choose Video" button.
4. Select the desired video, set its playback frame and in the upper right corner click on the icon of the picture.
5. Set the video as "live wallpaper" to the lock screen and the desktop.

How to block calls and texts from hidden numbers

If you've recently noticed that you often receive calls from unknown numbers (i.e. calls without a caller ID) - then your number is most likely in the base for advertising mailing and spam. This is not terrible, but sometimes such calls and messages annoy you with their constancy. How to block them on Realmi:

1. Go to the "Calls" application, in the right corner of the screen select "2 points" - settings.
2. Select "Set rules" - to block calls.
3. In this menu we set up the blocking for unwanted calls. Or simply enable "Blocking from hidden numbers".

Do the same with the SMS, but there you need to set the keywords for the automatic blocking.

How to increase the speaker volume on Realme

You need to check if monaural sound is enabled.

1. Go to the system settings, scroll to "Advanced Settings".
2. Select the "Special Features" option.
3. Go to the "Hear" menu and find "Monophonic sound".
4. Now turn on any music track and go back to this point. Switch the slider and choose the best sound option for yourself.

What to do if fingerprint unlock does not work

If you're having trouble unlocking your smartphone with the fingerprint scanner, here's what you can try:

1. Check that the scanner area is clean and free of foreign objects.
2. Make sure the fingerprint is clean and free of scuffs.
3. Try deleting and creating a new fingerprint.

How to limit Internet access to a certain application

This is done mainly so that in those applications where there is an overabundance of ads, they are not shown.
